Plot Synopsis
One of the best examples of Dutt's attempts at screwball musical comedy, this satirical romp is invested with a social conscience as well as visual inventions. Dutt stars alongside Madhubala, who at the time was India's most celebrated actress. The narrative revolves a naïve, free spirited heiress who is manipulated by a scheming aunt to marry a man - then quickly divorce him - so she can claim her father's inheritance. The unlucky victim is an unemployed cartoonist (Dutt). But will marriage change the little rich girl?
